Want a concrete contractor in Rockledge, FL, who reads the City's rules before quoting? Rockledge runs its own Building Division, with a permit list more specific than most people expect.
Patios are the surprise. Florida permit guides online often say a ground-level patio skips the permit. Rockledge's FAQ lists "Patios larger than 100 sq. ft." by name.
We're a Brevard County concrete company, and our own crew does every job. We don't outsource.
Which Rockledge rule does your concrete job run into?

What goes into a Rockledge driveway permit?
The City's residential permit requirements and handout ask for:
- Two copies of a site plan or survey showing the existing driveway and the proposed one.
- A written, detailed narrative of the work. Every residential application needs one.
- Two signatures: the contractor's and the property owner's, or a signed contract between them.
- Public Works approval if any of it is in the right-of-way.
Before anyone digs, the handout says to call 1-800-432-4770 for an underground utility locate.
Where your driveway meets the street
If your apron sits in the City's right-of-way, two rules apply. Land Development Regulations Sec. 36.00 makes it unlawful to do work "affecting any street, sidewalk, or public way" without a permit from the director of public works.
Under Sec. 36.03, you apply in writing, naming the public way, the work, and the time and place. Apply at least 48 hours before work starts, emergencies aside.
Then the finish. In the City's right-of-way, sidewalks, curbs and aprons can't be painted, etched or built from other materials. Changing the standard takes the City Manager's express approval. Want your stamped pattern all the way to the curb? That approval comes first.
Rules last checked September 28, 2026. Local rules change. More: the Rockledge section of our Brevard driveway permit guide.
Rockledge expects driveways kept in repair
Code enforcement cares about your concrete too. On lots with a building, driveways and walkways "shall be kept in a proper state of repair," the City's FAQ says. They must also be "maintained free from hazardous conditions."
A raised walkway edge can be ground down or replaced. We'll tell you which fix fits.
What a concrete driveway costs around here

Frequently asked questions
Does a small patio need a permit in Rockledge?
The City's list names patios larger than 100 sq. ft. It doesn't say smaller ones are exempt, and the FAQ says permits apply except for minor repairs. Call the Building Division at 321-221-7540, option 2, before you pour.
Who signs a Rockledge permit application?
The contractor and the property owner, or the City takes a signed contract between the two instead.
Can I pull the permit as the homeowner?
Yes, with an Owner/Builder Affidavit, if you own the property, it's for your own use, and it isn't for sale or lease for a year.
Will you reseal stamped concrete another company poured?
Yes. We reseal stamped concrete, including stamped work another company installed.
Is that driveway range what you'd charge me?
No. It's Angi's published range for the Orlando area. Your price comes from a free estimate.
