Looking for a concrete contractor in Palm Bay, FL? If you're choosing a concrete company in Palm Bay, here's what to know up front.
We're a Brevard County concrete contractor. Our own crew pours driveways, patios and slabs, fixes cracked and sunken concrete, and finishes floors inside. We don't outsource any of it.
In Palm Bay, a driveway job usually involves the City too. The part nearest the street is usually in the City's right-of-way, and work there needs a Public Works permit. We handle that.
What concrete work do we do in Palm Bay?
Outside
- Driveways: new pours, replacements, extensions and aprons. We also seal and reseal plain concrete driveways.
- Patios and stamped concrete: plain, stamped or stained. You pick the pattern and color, and stamped overlays can go over existing concrete.
- Pool decks: resurfacing and new decks.
- Slabs: shed, RV, boat and dumpster pads, and metal-building slabs.
- Sidewalks, walkways and entrances: repairs and new pours for homes, HOAs, churches and businesses.
Fix it
- Repair: crack filling, patching, and cutting out and repouring a bad section.
- Leveling: lifting sunken slabs with polyurethane foam.
- Resurfacing: a new surface over solid, worn concrete.
Inside
- Polished floors in matte, satin or high-gloss, staining, and garage floors (no coatings).
Own a business or manage property? See commercial concrete: parking areas, larger slabs, and subcontracting for general contractors.
Cracked or sunken doesn't always mean replace. We'll tell you which fix fits.
What does Palm Bay require for driveway work?
Palm Bay's driveway permits come from its Public Works Department. Here's what the City's code and Public Works say:
- Permit for work in a city road or easement. Building, repairing, replacing or removing a curb, culvert, sidewalk or driveway there needs a driveway permit from Public Works. (Code § 176.020)
- Where the right-of-way ends. Public Works says it's "usually defined as the roadway plus 10 - 15 feet behind the curb or edge of pavement," and it can vary. (Public Works Permitting)
- Two inspections. Public Works inspects before the pour and again at the end.
- 90 days. A driveway permit expires after 90 days unless it's extended.
- Upkeep. The permit holder agrees to maintain what's built in the right-of-way.
- New homes. The driveway permit can be applied for with the building permit, and there's no certificate of occupancy until the driveway is permitted and approved. (§ 176.021)
- City sidewalks are concrete, at least 5 feet wide and 4 inches thick, and 6 inches thick where they cross a driveway. (§ 176.011)
